Standard Warranty Policy for Inverters, Batteries, and Solar Panels
Installation and Compliance Requirements:
- Installation must be done by a qualified Electrician (I.E – Installation Electrician or M.I.E – Master Installation Electrician).
- A valid electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) specific to the backup or solar system installation is required.
- Installation must comply with SANS 10142 and all its parts.
- Mandatory detailed installation photos (showing open trunking, DB boards, Sub DB Boards, warning stickers, and visible wiring), a valid COC, and proof of installation by a qualified electrician for warranty registration. Please ensure the date of the photo is visible during registration.
- System registration for Small Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) approval may be required by local authorities.
Warranty Coverage:
- Warranty period begins from the purchase invoice date.
- Warranty claims lacking required documentation or non-compliant installations risk rejection, rendering the warranty null and void.
Warranty Exclusions:
- Power Surge: Damage from sudden electrical power increases.
- Under-Voltage: Damage when voltage drops below required levels.
- Over-Voltage: Damage from voltage exceeding safe thresholds.
- Lightning: Direct or indirect lightning strike damage.
- Corrosion: Damage from chemical reactions, like rust.
- Sea Spray: Damage from oceanic saltwater.
- Condensation: Damage from moisture accumulation.
- Water Damage: Damage from water contact or exposure.
- Dust/Solid Particles: Damage from dust or particles.
- Sand: Damage from sand exposure.
- Insects: Damage from insect infestations.
- Lizards: Damage or interference from lizards.
- Excessive Heat Exposure: Damage from operating in overheated conditions.
- Weather Damage: Various weather condition damages.
- Negligence by Installer/Homeowner: Damage from improper handling or maintenance.
- Incorrect Installation: Damage from not following guidelines.
- Inadequate Protection Device Rating: Damage from improper device ratings.
- Tampering (Broken Seal): Issues from unauthorized opening.
- Dirty Filters: Damage from unclean filters.
- Exceeding Maximum Power Rating: Overloading system damage.
- Wrong Cable Types and Sizes: Using incorrect cable types/sizes.
- AC and DC Cables in 1 Trunking: Voiding warranty for not meeting SANS requirements.
- Not properly sized fuses between battery and inverters and or panels and inverters.
Responsibilities and Process:
- Customers must register the warranty on our website with detailed installation and component information.
- We facilitate warranty claims; warranties held by product importers.
- Repair centers may take up to 21 working days for warranty claim assessments.
- Authorization required before returning units for warranty claims.
- Adherence to manufacturer’s warranty registration is essential.
- We do not provide free backup units and are not obligated to provide any.
Maintenance and Support:
- Regular servicing is crucial for system efficiency, safety, and longevity (recommended annually).
